Steve is a Co-Founder and Director at Cushing Capital Partners and has spent 35 years in financial services helping clients bring clarity to their financial lives. Prior to co-founding Cushing Capital, Steve spent 18 years as Senior Vice President - Investments at Wells Fargo Advisors. Steve earned his B.A. in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire and began his career practice as a CPA. Steve also holds an MA from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
Outside of the office, Steve enjoys outdoor recreation, reading and spending time with his wife of 40 years, Sue. Steve also serves his community in numerous roles. Most recently, he co-led a team that helped place the first fully accredited four-year Bachelor's Degree program inside the walls of a Wisconsin state prison. Steve has also served as a varsity coach for the girl's lacrosse team at Arrowhead High School for ten years. Steve has three children and five (and counting) grandchildren. Steve and his wife live in Hartland, Wisconsin.
Jake is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Cushing Capital Partners. Prior to co-founding Cushing Capital, he spent the majority of his career at Wells Fargo Advisors with a focus on customized portfolio construction and financial planning.
At Cushing Capital, Jake works closely with clients to draft and implement customized planning strategies intended to bring clarity, efficiency and optimization to all facets of their financial lives. Jake also serves as the firm’s Chief Operating Officer and oversees the firm’s relationships with third-party vendors.
Jake holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master's of Christian Studies degree from Denver Seminary. Jake earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation in 2018.
Outside of the office, Jake enjoys spending time with his growing family, vacationing at the family cabin in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, cross-country skiing in the winter, and golfing in the summertime. Jake has three young children and lives in Delafield, Wisconsin with his wife, Michelle.
Matt is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Cushing Capital Partners. He has spent over 30 years in the financial services industry, primarily working with private clients in the areas of financial planning and investment management. Throughout his career, Matt’s greatest enjoyment has been working closely alongside clients to develop and implement planning and investment strategies aligned with their life goals. Prior to co-founding Cushing Capital, Matt was Senior Vice President - Investments at Wells Fargo Advisors.
At Cushing Capital, Matt oversees the firm’s tactical investment strategies. He also serves as the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer. Matt earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his MBA from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. Matt is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.
Away from the office, Matt enjoys traveling and hiking National Parks with his family. He’s also an avid outdoorsman and often can be found hunting, fishing or simply enjoying the outdoors. In recent years, Matt has worked hard to steward the land his family owns in Southeast Wisconsin, making it a suitable refuge for wildlife big and small. Matt has two grown children and lives in Delafield, Wisconsin with his wife, Laura.
Angela is the Director of Client Services at Cushing Capital Partners and has over 30 years of experience in the wealth management industry, holding numerous positions in client service and administration. At Cushing Capital, Angela oversees account administration, client service and office operations. Prior to joining Cushing Capital, she spent over 15 years as a Senior Client Associate at Wells Fargo Advisors.
Outside of the office, Angela enjoys spending time outdoors, reading and walking. Angela has one grown daughter, Kennedy, and lives in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin with her husband, Bill.
Jackie is a Senior Client Service Associate at Cushing Capital Partners and has spent over three decades in various wealth management support roles in the areas of day-to-day operations and client service. Most recently, Jackie was a Senior Client Associate at Wells Fargo Advisors, a position she held for over 15 years. At Cushing Capital, Jackie focuses on client service, account administration and request processing.
Away from the office, Jackie is an avid reader and enjoys spending time with her family. Jackie lives in Bayview, Wisconsin.
